Social Responsibility
In South Africa there is a pressing need for the corporate world to offer support to less privileged
members of our society. In response to this moral responsibility Fer-Min-Ore has selected a number
of charities that help disadvantaged people to achieve their full potential and enable them to make
a valuable contribution to society and the community. Fer-Min-Ore has an established policy to
contribute 1% of net profit per year that is allocated to the selected charities.
Of the charities that we currently support it is noteworthy that our contributions to Girls and
Boys Town (initiated in 2002) are sufficient to cover the entire annual living and schooling costs of a child at one of the Girls & Boys Town Family Homes. It is gratifying to see that many
of the girls and boys who graduate from Girls and Boys Town go on to achieve great things and
become outstanding members of society.
